Frequently asked questions

Can foreigners buy property in Abu Dhabi?

Yes. Every nationality can own freehold in Abu Dhabi's investment zones, which ADREC counts at 50, among them Al Reem, Yas, Saadiyat, Masdar City and Al Ghadeer. The home is registered in the buyer's own name. More in our guide buying property in Abu Dhabi as an expat.

How do I buy property in Abu Dhabi?

In six steps: decide the goal, check the cash (Down Payment, the 2% registration fee and bank costs), arrange the finance, make an offer and sign the memorandum of understanding (MOU), transfer at DARI (ADGM on Al Reem and Al Maryah), then collect the keys at transfer or at the developer's handover.

How much does property cost in Abu Dhabi?

On our list: apartments from AED 529,999, townhouses from AED 1,500,000 and villas from AED 4,000,000. The highest price is a 5 bedroom villa on Hudayriyat Island at AED 22,000,000.

Does buying property give me a Golden Visa?

A home of AED 2 million or more opens the Golden Visa route for property owners. ICP sets the term and conditions and decides each application. 64 homes on our list are priced at AED 2 million or more.
