Things to weigh

  • Many projects hand over between 2027 and 2031, so owners who sell or let later will compete with new stock.
  • Tower homes vary a lot by floor and view: two homes with the same bedrooms can differ widely in price.
  • Beaches are limited compared with Saadiyat and Yas; the draw is the city, not the sand.
  • Off-plan money is committed for years before handover; check the plan against your cash flow.

Buying on Al Reem, step by step

  1. Fix the budget

    Set a ceiling with the calculator, then check the 4 bedroom and townhouse tables if you need space.

  2. Pick ready or off-plan

    A resale home gives keys at transfer; a launch is paid on the developer's plan.

  3. Hold the home

    Pay the booking instalment on a launch, or sign an MOU with a deposit on a resale.

  4. Line up the mortgage

    Get a bank pre-approval first if you are borrowing.

  5. Register on DARI

    Every sale is registered on DARI, with a 2% registration fee.

  6. Get the keys

    Title deed on transfer for resale; handover on completion for off-plan.
