Know the difference between wear and damage

AI illustration of a bright contemporary apartment living room
Living in a home leaves marks. Faded paint near a window, light scuffs along a corridor or a worn patch where a chair stood are part of normal use. A broken door handle, a cracked basin or a carpet stained by a spill are different, because something specific caused them. Read what your lease says about the condition expected at move-out, and ask the landlord if the wording is unclear. During the tenancy, fix any damage you cause promptly and ask before repainting or drilling, even for picture hooks. Take dated photos of the main rooms every few months. At move-out, if a deduction is proposed, discuss it against those photos and the move-in record. Clear evidence keeps the conversation about facts, not memories. Prepared by Masterpiece Property. Look at the supply due near your handover

If you plan to rent out an off-plan home after handover, check what else completes nearby. ADREC's H1 2026 market report release, dated 18 August 2026, projects around 71,000 additional units across the emirate by 2030, with deliveries expected to peak at approximately 21,800 units in 2028. It names six key districts, including Al Reem Island, Yas Island and Al Saadiyat Island, as drivers of 77% of projected incremental supply. Ask which nearby projects share a similar completion window, and how many homes of your type they include. When several building
