Understand how specification changes are handled
Some purchase documents describe circumstances in which finishes or equipment may be substituted. Find the relevant wording and ask how a proposed change would be communicated, documented and assessed against the original specification. Focus your questions on the items that would influence your choice.
For example, if the kitchen appliance specification is important to you, clarify which details are fixed and what the agreement says about alternatives. A showroom sample can explain appearance without settling that contractual question. Record separately any upgrade you agree to, with its terms and scope. Resolve uncertainty before reservation, especially where a particular finish is essential to your decision. This gives you a clearer basis for comparing what is promised and what may vary.
