Plan the overlap between two leases

Moving from one rental to another inside Abu Dhabi sounds simple until the dates are written down. The old lease rarely ends on the day the new one starts. An overlap of a few weeks means paying two rents at once, while a gap means storing furniture and finding somewhere to stay. Settle the dates before you sign the second lease. Start with your current contract: how much notice must you give, and what does it say about leaving before the end date? Then ask the new landlord whether the start date can move to fit.
