Make sure the paperwork describes your home
Read the property description in the proposed tenancy against the home you actually viewed. Check building and unit identifiers, named parties, included parking and any attached inventory. Clarify inconsistent details before signing or paying, rather than assuming a small difference can be corrected after you move into the property.
For example, a different unit number in payment correspondence deserves a verified explanation even if the photographs look familiar. Confirm the contact's authority through the appropriate channels; access to keys alone does not settle that question. Keep the agreed documents and relevant correspondence together so later references use the same property information. Matching identity, inclusions and authorised parties creates a clearer basis for the tenancy and exposes questions that still need to be resolved before commitment.
