Know what makes each payment due

A payment plan may link instalments to construction stages, calendar dates or a combination of both. Read the actual agreement to identify the trigger for each payment. Ask who confirms a milestone, how the notice reaches you and what information accompanies a demand for payment. For example, a progress photograph showing completed structural work does not by itself explain whether your next instalment is due. Match the notice to the relevant contract clause and payment schedule. Keep those documents together and set reminders around the notice process described to you.
