Give taps and drains a proper check

Water fittings are easy to overlook when a bathroom looks newly finished. During a viewing, ask permission to run accessible taps and showers, observe drainage and check the visible area around sinks. Record anything that needs attention, such as a dripping tap or staining, without assuming you know the cause of a hidden problem. Ask who will arrange repairs and whether an identified issue will be resolved before handover. For an off-plan home, review the fixture schedule and the contract wording on substitutions instead of relying on the display bathroom. A shower fitting shown in a sales suite, for example, may need confirmation in the specification. Working fittings, documented inclusions and clear repair responsibilities provide a more useful comparison than finish colour alone. Prepared by Masterpiece Property.
