Create a clear record before unpacking

Record the rental home's starting condition before furniture and boxes obscure the details. Agree how the inventory will be shared, then note included appliances, furnishings, keys and access devices. With permission, take clear photographs of existing marks or damage and identify their location so the record is useful to everyone involved. For example, a photograph of a scratched cabinet should be paired with a note naming the room and cabinet, rather than left among unrelated images. Send the inventory through the agreed channel, keep a copy and request confirmation of any promised repairs and their timing. This also helps distinguish an existing issue from one discovered later. A specific starting record supports clearer conversations during the tenancy and when the home is eventually returned. Prepared by Masterpiece Property.
