Check the windows where you will sit

Stand beside the windows during a viewing and imagine how you will use the room. A bright living area can feel different at a desk, beside a television or around a dining table. Note the direction of sunlight, available shading and whether furniture can sit comfortably without blocking an opening or a curtain. With permission, check that accessible windows open and close properly and look for visible gaps or damaged seals. Ask for the glazing specification where available, and refer technical questions to a qualified inspector. For example, a home office beside a large window may need suitable blinds as well as space for a desk. Compare usable light and window condition together; a photograph cannot establish thermal performance or future cooling costs. Prepared by Masterpiece Property.
