Verify the registered contract's details

Once your lease is registered, take a few minutes to check it properly. ADREC's website offers a document verification service that covers tenancy contracts, so you can confirm the document you hold is the registered one. Then read the fields line by line: the names of landlord and tenant, the unit, the total rent, the start and expiry dates, the number of instalments and whether subleasing is allowed. These are the details the landlord enters when registering through DARI, and they are the ones you may need later, at renewal or when arranging other services. Example: an expiry date entered a month early. Spotting it in the first week makes the correction simple. Save a PDF copy of the registered contract in more than one place.
