Register the renewed lease, too

Agreeing to renew is only half the job. A renewal starts a new contract period, so the registration needs updating with the new dates and terms. Confirm with the landlord who will process it, through which channel and when, and check that the renewed contract shows the right rent, start date, expiry date and number of instalments. Keep the new registered copy with your file and hand over any new cheques against a signed receipt. Example: a tenant renews verbally in Al Bateen, but the registration still shows last year's expiry date when a service provider asks for it.
