Read what the sustainability rating covers

A sustainability rating needs a clear identity before it helps you compare properties. Request the supporting document and check the named building, assessment date and scope. Establish whether it concerns the design, completed construction or another part of the development, and ask for clarification of any conditions you do not understand. For example, a rating shown in a community brochure may need further checking before you attach it to a particular resale apartment. Keep the document with the unit information and review practical details separately, including windows, cooling equipment and maintenance. A rating can describe assessed features; it does not calculate your household's future consumption. Give more weight to a precise, traceable explanation than to an impressive label whose connection to the home remains unclear. Prepared by Masterpiece Property.
